Join azcentral.com, The Arizona Republic and Alliance Bank of Arizona for a night of stories celebrating the Valley’s most iconic restaurants and inspiring chefs, from our past, and our future. 

Chef Justin Beckett has designed a three-course dinner with appetizer, choice of entree and dessert in the public space at the Newton, home to Southern Rail and First Draft Book Bar at Changing Hands Bookstore.

Held in the former Beefeater’s space, this night is dedicated to the places, people and culinary creations that define the Valley’s dining scene. Tickets include a dinner, tax, tip and admission to event; ticket purchase serves as your reservation.

Southern Rail Signature Appetizer Duet: Fried Green Tomatoes & Pimento Cheese (V) and Dirty Rice Balls & Smoked Onion Cream

Third Course

Inspired by Beefeater’s classic, we offer our own version of Baked Alaska: Chocolate Cake, Cafe Americano Ice Cream, Vanilla Meringue

• Total tickets available are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Our nights typically sell out. 
• A limited number of tickets may be offered for purchase at the door. We accept cash or credit. 
• Event check-in starts at 6 p.m.
• Stories begin promptly at 7 p.m.
• Arrive early. Seating at the event is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. 
• Proceeds from this event will be used to support Arizona Republic/azcentral journalism training and education programs.
• We are unable to offer refunds on any purchased ticket.
